Amphoras, or Talha, are the traditional system of vinification on Alentejo, although the "Branco de Talha" (White wine amphora) were traditionally fermented with skin contact and without temperature control.

It is first mentioned in a document dated April 1738 but it was only in 1903, when Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his interest in oenology, began to seriously dedicate himself to the risky business of winemaking.
Cartuxa Red Wine pours an intense garnet color. Its aroma is complex and elegant, with notes of ripe red and black fruits beautifully integrated with touches of spices, tobacco, and vanilla from its time in wood. On the palate, it is a full-bodied wine with firm yet rounded tannins and a balanced acidity, leading to a long, persistent, and complex finish. This structured profile makes it an excellent pairing for dishes of red meat, game, and roasted pork, as well as rich oven dishes and semi-cured or aged cheeses.

The Winery is surrounded by 1,400 hectares of a landscape that can be considered exuberant, such is the diversity of plants and fauna, with several river basins forming veritable oases. The Winery is a true place of worship. A place where modernity and functionality can be found alongside indelible traditional techniques.

In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation. The grapes ripen, thus, in a slow and balanced way, with cool and wet winters, mild summers and the constant presence of the sea winds, creating wines where elegance overrides robustness.

Noia Red Wine was inspired, dreamt up and designed from the Sangiovese, Touriga Franca and Alicante Bouschet grape varieties. The inspiration comes from the magnificent landscape of our vineyards, where the vines grow and produce high quality grapes with extraordinary potential. To design the wine was to elaborate the final blend precisely and surgically. Potentiating the tannic structure of the Sangiovese with the freshness and youthfulness of the Touriga Franca and enveloping it in the cocoa, mint and spice flavours of the Alicante Bouschet.... This wine is faithful, with a unique identity and complicity
