Cartuxa Curtimenta 2019 White Wine

Cartuxa Curtimenta em Talha is a rare and traditional expression of Alentejo winemaking, crafted from old-vine Antão Vaz planted in granitic soils. After hand-harvesting and careful selection, the grapes underwent full skin-contact fermentation in 19th-century clay amphorae (talhas), where they remained with the skins and seeds until November 11th, following the ancient practice of Saint Martin’s Day. The wine then aged in the same amphorae until the following spring, when it was bottled.

Cartuxa Curtimenta em Talha White Wine presents golden in color, it reveals complex aromas of dried fruits, orange peel, herbs, and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, it is textural and distinctive, with firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a long finish that reflects its unique amphora fermentation. With 12.5% alcohol, this wine is best served at 10–12 ºC and pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, grilled fish, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses
