It all started in 1987 when Alice and Paulo were looking for a property that would be their family's Project and where they could make high quality wine. At Quinta da Chocapalha, all elements of the family have a role in creating the spirit of the project
<p></p><p>The company was founded in 1926 by Mr. Messias Baptista, who served as chairman until 1973. The management is still held by the descendants of MESSIAS family. <span id="result_box" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Since its foundation</span> that MESSIAS <span lang="en" xml:lang="en">has been producing and selling high quality wines from the main demarcated regions:</span> Bairrada, Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde, Beiras and Vinho do Porto. The company is also known for the high quality of its Champagne method Sparkling wines and aged Brandies</p> <p></p> <p></p>
<p></p><p>Since 1751 Ferreira name has always been synonymous with high-quality Portuguese wine. The brand's history is intertwined with the history of the evolution of the Douro Region (demarcated in 1756) and its Porto and table wines (Douro DOC).</p> <p>Dona Antonia, endowed with exceptional energy and a rare commercial talent gave great impetus to wine-growing in Douro and was well-known for her acts of social welfare in the region. Her intelligence and kindness earned her the warm admiration of her contemporaries, who affectionately nicknamed her "Ferreirinha" (little Ferreira). <br />Today, more than 250 years later, Ferreira is "the Portuguese brand", the benchmark in excellent quality Porto and Douro wine as "Porto Ferreira", "Barca Vellha" "Reserva Especial", "Callabriga", "Quinta da Leda" and "Antónia Adelaide Ferreira", the symbol of a country and a culture it proudly honours.</p> <p> </p> <p></p>
<p></p><p>Monte Velho Red was launched for the first time in 1992, its name comes from the monte located next to the Caridade reservoir, at Herdade do Espor. At the time, the wine boasted the same origin and philosophy as Espor Reserva but was created to reach more people and make daily wine consumption an experience.</p>
<p><span>Quinta da Fronteira is located in the deep valley of the Upper Douro river, in the International Douro Natural Park, in the Douro Superior sub-region. Founded by Guerra Junqueiro, famous writer of the 19th century, the property consists of two vineyards (one located in Barca D'Alva and the other in Freixo de Espada à Cinta).</span></p> <p></p> <p></p>

<p></p><p>Zavial Pinot Noir Red Wine</p> <p>The grapes on these single varietal wines from the Lisbon wine-producing region come from a vineyard called “Zavial”.</p> <p>In the case of Pinot Noir, it is a parcel with 6ha of area in which there are three different clones planted.</p>
<p></p><p>Chocapalha Syrah Red Wine presents elegant, balanced and fresh, this Syrah has notes of spice, blackberry and plum. On the palate it has great complexity, good fruit and excellent acidity.</p>
