<p></p><p>A 23-year-old winemaker and an English winemaker could only go wrong. "Portuguese winemaker António Maçanita and English consultant and winemaker David Booth met in early 2004. Over the next few months, Antonio was already learning viticulture with David and a great friendship developed. The next step would be to make wine. First wine, first success, with the Alentejo Trophy at the International Wine Challenge, awarded for the second time in 22 years of competition.</p>

<p></p><p>This fortified wine dates back to the 14th century and reached its golden period by the laborious hands and sharp mind of Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo - Marquês de Pombal and Conde de Oeiras. Carcavelos' wine ran the world. It entered the most varied cultures. It has even given part of its 'soul' to Port wine in order to give it a 'body' and a superior taste. From this fertile and auspicious period, it fell to levels that without the intervention of the municipality was expected to cease to exist.</p> <p>It took hold and recovered and today, the vineyard continues to produce, on the hillside facing the Tejo, in the land that has always been fertile, shaken by the wind that is typical of us, the grape varieties. <p>On the tasting notes, AdegaMãe Chardonnay White Wine displays a bright, clear yellow straw color. The nose offers great aromatic richness, with prominent notes of white orchard fruits (apple, peach) and subtle tropical fruit hints, complemented by delicate citrus touches and a subtle, well-integrated presence of oak. On the palate, it has great volume, a creamy and balanced texture, supported by excellent, vibrant acidity, leading to an intense and persistent finish.
