"We grew up in a family of producers, with a strong and heartfelt relationship with wine, land, countryside and rural property.

From an early age we have observed their practices and listened with pride and attention to the lessons that our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents have given us. It was at that time that we learned the first teachings about production and that we realized that nothing is achieved in this area without work and sacrifice.
We have been drinking the necessary inspiration in the family tradition but we have not stopped applying our own strategy when we conceived the Herdade das Servas Project, which was to be born in 1998.
However, the concern to rediscover our past has not been there. On the contrary, we have never ceased to seek information on our origins, on those that preceded us, and on its connection with wine.
The fact that we had a hoist dating from 1667 has always aroused our attention and whetted our curiosity even more. Would that symbol represent the familiar viticultural origin? We then set out in search of answers, in the impossibility of doing it ourselves, we requested an external study.
This research, still ongoing, has been very fruitful and far exceeded our initial expectations. More than a hundred historical sources guarantee the production of wine in the family, at least until the 13th generation (about 350 years).
We are now deepening knowledge about the practices and methods used over time and studying their evolution. After all, our ascendants have always strived to improve generation after generation the quality of the final product, which is nothing less than what we aspire to ourselves.
In this sense, without ever forgetting our past, we have always made possible, introduced our ideas and our personal perspective. We believe that this will be the mark of our time and the legacy we will leave to future generations.
This perception of reality leads us to believe that, in addition to all the work, dedication and dedication, the secret of the conquest will also be achieved by obtaining an almost perfect symbiosis between the inherited (past) learning and the innovations introduced (present). "
