

Cossart Gordon Bual Colheita 2006 Madeira is a distinguished made vintage wine from the south coast of Madeira, including vineyard areas in Calheta, Arco, and Estreito da Calheta. Harvested manually over several weeks to capture perfect ripeness, the grapes are grown on espalier trellises in volcanic soils (basalt, trachytes, tufa, slag, and conglomerate). The wine is aged in the classic canteiro system in large 650-L casks at ambient room temperature until bottling. This process creates a wine that is rich, layered, and deeply expressive.
On the nose, the Cossart Gordon Bual Colheita 2006 Madeira presents an amber colour with golden hues, brilliant and crystalline. Aromas are intense and distinctive, with notes of dried fruits and candied fruits, subtle spice, and biscuit. On the palate it is medium-rich, very balanced and delicate, culminating in a long, sumptuous finish with flavours of spices, figs, and candied dates macerated in brandy. Alcohol is 19% ABV, offering a decadent yet well-tempered sweetness that makes it a perfect contemplative wine, ideal after dessert or enjoyed slowly on its own.
