



Cossart Gordon 5 Years Old Malmsey Madeira is made entirely from the Malmsey grape, sourced from quality vineyards such as Jardim do Mar at 150-200 m altitude. It is fermented off the skins with natural yeast at 18-21 °C in stainless steel tanks, fortified after approximately 48 hours to reach its signature sweetness. The wine then matures via the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system: aged in American oak casks, exposed to gentle heat in the lofts of Madeira lodges, gradually moving from warmer top floors down to cooler ground levels.
On the nose, Cossart Gordon Malmsey 5 Years Old Madeira displays a dark golden brown colour and offers a characteristic Madeira bouquet: raisins, toffee, nuts and hints of honey. The palate is rich, full-bodied and sweet, yet beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity. With about 110 g/L residual sugar and 19% ABV, it is perfectly suited to pairing with desserts—especially fruit, chocolate cakes, rich puddings—and cheeses. Bottled ready to enjoy, it remains stable and rewarding for several months after opening.
