Casa da Passarella O Fugitivo Barcelo 2022 White Wine
Casa da Passarella O Fugitivo Barcelo is a singular white wine from Portugal's Dão region, notable for being a single varietal expression of the indigenous Barcelo grape. This wine is part of the "O Fugitivo" line, which celebrates unique expressions and represents a return to the ancestral winemaking roots of Casa da Passarella. The Barcelo grape, though viticulturally challenging, is historically significant in Dão, once holding a status akin to Encruzado.
Casa da Passarella O Fugitivo Barcelo displays a citrine color. The nose is elegant and complex, offering notes of white fruits (like yellow plum and lychee) and melon, intertwined with mineral, floral, and subtle toasted oak nuances. On the palate, it is remarkably fresh and elegant, with depth and tension, complemented by spicy notes and a prolonged finish. Its full-bodied yet fresh profile makes it a versatile pairing for grilled fatty fish, seafood, white meats, light and fresh salads, and various vegetable dishes

Carm Red Wine has an expression of ripe black berries, mulberry and black cherry introduce this wine, follwed by the seductuive flavours of black fruits and liquorice. It rounds off with hints of toasted oak, warm spicy fruity and silky texture

The Symington family, with Scottish, English and Portuguese ancestry has been present in the Douro for five generations — since 1882 — and through the current generation’s great grandmother, the family’s links to the wines of the Douro span 14 generations, to the mid-17th century and to the very beginnings of the history of Port

Since its creation in 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has been investing in the main Portuguese wine regions. With a strong presence in Dão, Douro and Vinhos Verdes, entry into Alentejo - the national wine region with the highest growth rates - was natural and inevitable

Cartuxa Red Wine pours an intense garnet color. Its aroma is complex and elegant, with notes of ripe red and black fruits beautifully integrated with touches of spices, tobacco, and vanilla from its time in wood. On the palate, it is a full-bodied wine with firm yet rounded tannins and a balanced acidity, leading to a long, persistent, and complex finish. This structured profile makes it an excellent pairing for dishes of red meat, game, and roasted pork, as well as rich oven dishes and semi-cured or aged cheeses.

Monte da Peceguina Rosé Wine is perfect as an aperitif but also shines at the table. It pairs beautifully with summer salads, grilled seafood, sushi, Mediterranean dishes, and light pasta. Its freshness and acidity also make it an excellent match for Asian cuisine with mild spices, as well as charcuterie or soft goat cheeses, making it a wine to enjoy on many different occasions.

Pinhanços is a magic slope that is like a balcony facing the majestic “Serra da Estrela”. Here we have an amazing view of rough cutted ridges that seem like brodery on a towel of an altar that sometimes is immaculated white. On each hill side, a small vilage, a chapel. And small streams wrinkle the landscape, running frightned but quietly slipping to the sea.
