The beginning of the adventure began with the grandfather of the company's global manager, Eng. Paulo Sousa. Coming from the United States in the 1930s, he acquired the first lots and started production, sold in bulk or for co-operatives. This model continued until the 1980s when wine production paused. 

After completing his studies in Chemical Engineering and collaborating with a wine production company, the family had in Eng. Paulo Sousa the right person to reinvigorate their own production. The return had such success that eventually demanded its total availability. The production is based on approximately 12 hectares of vineyards of their own, planted in clay-limestone soil in Sangalhos, Bairrada region. The planted varieties are the white Arinto, Bical and Maria Gomes and the Baga, Merlot and Touriga Nacional paints. The result is wax of 70,000 bottles annually, between sparkling and red.
