The Foudre comes from an exceptional 80 year old vineyard located in the Serra de São Mamede at 700 metres altitude.
It was vinified in a 1961 Alsatian Foudre of 1150 litres capacity where it was aged for 16 months.
Susana Esteban was born in Tui, Spain. She holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a Master's degree in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of La Rioja. She began her trajectory as an oenologist in 1999 at Quinta do Côtto, and later worked as an oenologist at Quita do Crasto between 2002 and 2007. Both farms are located in the Douro. She has worked since the 2007 harvest as a consultant in different Alentejo producers, namely Tiago Cabaço Wines, Herdade do Barrocal, Monte dos Cabaços and Monte da Raposinha.

<p></p><p>In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation. The grapes ripen, thus, in a slow and balanced way, with cool and wet winters, mild summers and the constant presence of the sea winds, creating wines where elegance overrides robustness.</p>
<p></p><p>Petrichor White Wine has a slight amber colour. It evokes the memory of the smell of rain falling on dry soil, of cut grass and where orange peel stands out. A gastronomic wine with good acidity and tannins from contact with the skins.</p> <p>The grapes are hand-picked early in the morning into small boxes to preserve their freshness, then cooled in a cold room before being vinified.</p>
