Proibido Dejavu 2021 Red Wine
Proibido Déjà Vu is a red wine from the Douro region, crafted by winemaker Márcio Lopes. It’s made from traditional grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alvarelhão, and Tinta da Barca, grown on schist soils. The grapes are hand-harvested and transported in small 18–20 kg boxes, then foot-trodden in a traditional lagar. Fermentation occurs spontaneously over about 30 days, and the wine is aged for 12 months in used oak barrels, resulting in an alcohol content of around 14%.
Proibido Dejavu Red Wine shows an intense ruby color and expressive aromas of ripe red fruit, such as blackcurrant and raspberry. On the palate, it is structured yet elegant, with firm but polished tannins, juicy texture, and a long, persistent finish. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for 10–20 years. The recommended serving temperature is 16–18 °C, allowing the wine’s complexity and freshness to unfold beautifully in the glass.
