Cossart Gordon 10-Year-Old Malmsey is made from pure Malmsey grapes. Fermentation is carried out off the skins with natural yeast at temperatures between 18-21 °C, in stainless steel tanks. After about 48 hours, the wine is fortified with grape brandy to arrest fermentation and preserve its characteristic sweetness. It then matures using the traditional Canteiro system: aged in American oak casks, initially in the warm lofts of Madeira’s wine lodges, gradually transferring to the cooler floors over time. Before bottling it is racked and fined
