Áurea is a tribute to Grandmother Áurea, the family connection with Portuguese origins. 100% Bastardo from the sub-region of Dão – Serra da Estrela – at an altitude of 600 meters and in granite soils. The Bastardo grapes ferment in a press with 30% whole bunch and macerate for 15 days. Then they age for 1 year in old barrels. Delicate aromas with fruit character and some balsamic and spice notes. Firm but textured tannins, high sense of freshness and great complexity. It has enormous potential to age in bottle.</p>

<p>When tasting, expect an opaque red or intense ruby color. The aroma is characterful, with restrained fruit (black fruit, blackcurrant), notes of phenolic maceration, light smokiness, spicy touches (pepper, cinnamon), and sometimes hints of Chinese ink. On the palate, it reveals good, vigorous tannins that lead to a spicy, broad, and incisive taste that pleasantly grips the mouth. It possesses lively and captivating acidity, with a robust and textured body. The finish is long, dry, and fresh, sometimes with a slight bitter note contrasting the fruit's sweetness, and remarkable persistence. This wine's structure and spicy, fruity profile make it an excellent gastronomic partner, ideal for roasted or grilled red meats, game dishes, aged cheeses, and rich stews.</p>

<p>The Conde de Anadia wines are born at the Palace of the Condes Anadia in Mangualde-Viseu.<br />Wine production on the estate dates back to the 18th century. Within the walls of the Palace we find the 10 hectares of vineyards, planted at 500 meters of altitude in granite soils, framed to the west by the majestic Serra da Estrela and flanked by the forest of the property.
