List of products by brand Quinta do Boição
Located in the heart of Bucelas, Quinta do Boição is spread over an area of 45 ha of clay / limestone soils.
The farm has a total area of 45 hectares, of which 37 ha with vineyards. Of these, about 14 ha are planted with red varieties, namely 4 ha of old vineyards (with a mean of 50 years) not aramadas and the remaining 10 ha with Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Syrah, Caladoc and Merlot. The harvesting is manual and made to the carton.
These vineyards give rise to wines such as Quinta do Boição Special Selection Old Vineyards produced with grapes from vines over 50 years old and aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
The remaining 23 ha are planted with white grape varieties, mostly Arinto, a predominant grape variety in the region, which gives rise to the famous Caves Velhas Bucellas, a true ex-libris of this region. The Quinta also has a small portion of the international Chardonnay variety. In recent years, there has been a lot of vineyard, in the process of improving the quality of the raw material of our wines.
Soils are predominantly derived from lean and hard limestone, with a very cold winter climate but hot and dry in the summer and with a certain nocturnal humidity, thus creating a micro climate favorable to the perfect balance between sugars and acidity and imparting a liveliness very typical of the white wines of this region.
