In 2001 began the adventure of Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges. This young couple at first had no vineyards or wine, but a common dream, a personal project to which they dedicated themselves body and soul.
The name Wine and Soul is the consequence of his passion and total commitment to wine. From the beginning the work of this company focuses on an untiring search for exceptional vineyards in the Pinhão valley, the historic heart of the great Port wines, and give them a voice.

His first creation was a wine, named Pintas, inspired by the restless pointer of the couple. The one who was originally a garage wine is today the image of the history and tradition of Douro, making use of grapes from old vines with more than 30 mixed grape varieties. In it the greatness, amplitude and wealth of this region find a faithful representation.
Later came the Pintas Character, the white Guru, the Vintage Port Pintas and the extraordinary Port Wine 5G. The latter results from a lot of very old wines, some of which are over one hundred years old.
In 2009, the wines of the famous Quinta da Manoella, a beautiful property where vineyards more than a hundred years old, stand side by side with young vineyards of 30 years and some even more recent. Quinta da Manoella Vinhas Velhas was immediately affirmed as one of the great wines of the Douro.
With this repertoire, Wine & Soul has become the image of the modern Douro: a Douro in which the nature and personality of each vineyard speak louder. With minimal interventions during winemaking, it is its unique terroir, which every agricultural year shapes to your liking, which determines the expression of each wine.
Sandra and Jorge believe in the strength of the alliance between the Port and Douro Wine, and they work on it. Today Wine & Soul and its wines are living proof that the traditional vineyards from which the great Vintage are born are equally capable of producing great Douro wines.
