Quinta dos Murças Reserva 2012 received 94 points for Wine Enthusiast. It is the third consecutive harvest of this wine to achieve this score. Roger Voss writes that it is an impressive, rich and structured wine, highlighting its bold tannins, balanced by the mature flavors of black plum and wild fruits.

Quinta dos Murças Reserva is born in the oldest vineyards of the Quinta, located between 150m and 280m of altitude, with exposure to the West. This is the classic version of the quinta wines where the terroir gives rise to wines of great elegance and aging potential.

A wine produced by the varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz.

It presents an intense deep color. Aroma of great complexity and elegance, result of its evolution in bottle. Dominated by ripe black fruits, balsamic aromas, such as the stew, and notes of spices, from their stage in barrel. Firm and concentrated palate, with a balanced acidity, has ripe tannins well wrapped in its body and volume. It presents a long and persistent ending, where its balance and elegance stand out.

Quinta dos Murças

Located in the center of DOC Douro, it is characterized by the presence of 8 terroirs very marked by the mountains, by the different altitudes and solar expositions, by the schist soils and by the characteristic climate of the Douro river valley. In the vineyards were planted dozens of autochthonous varieties, according to Biological Production and Integrated Production. Olive trees, orange groves, almond groves and Mediterranean woods help maintain the balance of the ecosystem.
