<p>Pequeno Eremita is an organic wine crafted by the esteemed winemaker, António Maçanita. It is part of the Fitapreta project and produced under the umbrella of the Chão dos Eremitas range, in the DOC Alentejo. This unique creation is the result of a meticulous process that combines traditional methods with a modern twist, embodying a fusion of age-old viticultural roots and a vibrant, youthful identity.<br /><br />The wine aims to bring a fresh and youthful identity to a historical terroir with deep roots in Portuguese viticulture. The harvest is done manually and at night. The wine undergoes spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation (without the addition of sulfites until the end of fermentation). The aging process is performed over static lees: 66% in stainless steel deposits and 33% in used French oak barrels for 9 months. This careful process ensures the creation of a wine that captures the rich essence of its origins, while also embodying a unique identity of its own.</p>

<p></p><p>This is the result of the perfect combination of Trincadeira and Grand Noir grape varieties, from the old red vineyard planted in the land back in 1901. It has a concentrated ruby colour and a very complex aroma, with soft balsamic and notes of woods, with black fruit, rock-rose, earth and a vibrant vegetable. When subject to tasting this is concentrated and deep wine, highly structured, with present and extremely elegant tannins. The fruit, minerality and balanced acidity provide a very long and persistent finish, full of character.</p>

<p></p> <p>On the hot plains of the Baixo Alentejo, just a few kilometres from the city of Beja, is one of the oldest wine estates in the region. Its vineyards represent decades of history that Henrique Uva has preserved and farmed for many years and which he always wanted to develop as an independent producer.<br />In 2004, he achieved his dream, with the project that goes by the name of Henrique Uva/Herdade da Mingorra. The Winery is surrounded by 1,400 hectares of a landscape that can be considered exuberant, such is the diversity of plants and fauna, with several river basins forming veritable oases.
