Located in the heart of Bairrada, in São Lourenço do Bairro, where tradition in wine production goes back to 1930. Inaugurated in 2007, Quinta do Encontro, a winery with the signature of the architect Pedro Mateus, is located in the vineyard landscape, in full harmony with nature, and is the result of a different and innovative vision of making and communicating the wines of Bairrada Region

<p></p><p>Since 2005 the company is called Kompassus, and still has a philosophy of wine production based on roots and family traditions. It is dedicated to the production of wines of excellence sustained by organic production methods and sustainable viticulture practices. The company is owned by João Póvoa, an ophthalmologist by profession, but a farmer by passion</p>
<p></p><p>Quinta Vale d'Aldeia – located in the Meda region in the heart of the Upper Douro – is a project born of one family’s effort and dedication, with the main aim of producing outstanding wines. </p>

It was created with the mission of transforming and revitalizing the production of the vineyards that began to be planted in the 80's by Horacio Lourenço, after returning from Angola. <p></p><p>Casal Garcia was born in 1939, a year in which the vintage was particularly good. Returning by train from the grape harvest in the Douro, the French oenologist Euge Hisse decided to interrupt his journey to Oporto after passing the vines of the Quinta da Aveleda, in Penafiel. The name came about by itself, since the wine was produced from one of the vines of Aveleda: that of Casal Garcia</p>
<p></p><p>Arvad Brut Nature Sparkling White Wine reveals a greenish colour with very fine and persistent bubbles. The nose emphasises notes of citrus fruit surrounded by some breadiness resulting from ageing in the bottle with free yeasts. On tasting, the bubble is very elegant, balancing and enveloping the wine's very refreshing natural acidity. It finishes long and persistent.</p> <p>Ideal with appetisers or seafood and grilled fish.</p> <p>It should be served between 7ºC and 10ºC.</p>
