<p>Herdade do Monte da Ribeira was acquired in 1986 by the industrialist Victor Carmona e Costa who, in the following 15 years, not only completely reformed the estate, but also implemented the entire productive agricultural structure and wine cellar.<br />Herdade is owned by Casa Agrícola HMR SA, which is wholly owned by a foundation that bears the name of its two Founders, the Victor and Graça Carmona e Costa Foundation. <p>Hand-harvested in small boxes and carefully selected, the grapes were fermented in traditional lagares at controlled temperature and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. Limited to just 3,600 bottles, Teixinha Aragonez Red wine delivers intensity and refinement in equal measure, making it an excellent companion for roasted meats, game dishes, and hearty Mediterranean cuisine.</p>

<p></p><p>In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation. The grapes ripen, thus, in a slow and balanced way, with cool and wet winters, mild summers and the constant presence of the sea winds, creating wines where elegance overrides robustness.</p>
