Founded in 1854 by the descendants of the Duke of Lencastre, surrounded by cork oaks and eucalyptus trees from Australia, the Herdade da Calada is hidden between the gentle hills of the Alentejo. Throughout the years it has been the target of various interventions and improvements, but preserves the beauty and elegance of the original feature of the main building and today is one of the most modern and innovative winemaking domains in Portugal, with an enotourism unit, 35 hectares of vineyard, 110 hectares of olive grove, 60 of cereals, 215 of mount and a magnificent lodging
<p></p><p>It was during the year of 2010 that the urge to produce wines in a region already filled history and wine tradition. The aim is to achieve the of two worlds: the respect the tradition and his origins no make-up or additives, producing wines freshness in a region known its continental and warm terroir. All the wines are produced minimalist intervention processes, promoting the respect the vineyard, its grape varieties and the sustainability of the process, guarantying the highest quality in all the production</p>
<p></p><p>Quinta do Mouro is located at the gates of the city of Estremoz, and belonged for centuries to the Zagalos family, one of the wealthiest in town. This original "quinta" in Alentejo, where the vast estates dominate, has an 18th century grooved house, charming gardens, bowls and 18th century tanks. In 1979, at the age of 26, luck dictated Miguel Louro's fate at a poker table, among friends, when he had the dilemma of buying a Porsche or Quinta do Mouro. The first hectares of vineyard would be planted in 1989, after a failed incursion into cattle breeding, and today he is one of the most iconic wine producers in the region.</p> <p></p>

<p></p><p>Founded in 1955, Adega de Borba was the first in a series of wineries set up in the Alentejo, with the encouragement of the then National Wine Board, at a time when the sector did not have the leading role it currently has in the regional economy.</p>
