The Monte do Pintor Estate is owned by Sociedade Agrícola da Sossega, Lda., a company established in 1991 and having as its main object the production and marketing of wines. The first Monte do Pintor wine was produced in 1993.

<p></p><p>In 1988, A Danish-American couple set out in a sailboat to find a place to start a family and plant a vineyard. They came to Alentejo, and in a land of white varieties, they planted red. And so begins the story of Cortes de Cima Family Vineyards</p>
<p></p><p><span>On the hot plains of the Baixo Alentejo, just a few kilometres from the city of Beja, is one of the oldest wine estates in the region. Its vineyards represent decades of history that Henrique Uva has preserved and farmed for many years and which he always wanted to develop as an independent producer.</span><br /><span>In 2004, he achieved his dream, with the project that goes by the name of Henrique Uva/Herdade da Mingorra. The Winery is surrounded by 1,400 hectares of a landscape that can be considered exuberant, such is the diversity of plants and fauna, with several river basins forming veritable oases. The Winery is a true place of worship. A place where modernity and functionality can be found alongside indelible traditional techniques.</span></p>

<p></p><p>In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation. The grapes ripen, thus, in a slow and balanced way, with cool and wet winters, mild summers and the constant presence of the sea winds, creating wines where elegance overrides robustness.</p>

<p></p><p>Monte das Bagas de Ouro Reserva Red Wine is produced from the Antão Vaz grape variety.</p> <p>The Petit Verdot grape variety was the inspiration, the basis and the reason for this Reserva. The aroma is expressive, intense and enveloping. The fruits of the forest mixed with floral notes of violets, enveloped in a shy note of toast and pepper win us over immediately. Aging for 18 months in French oak barrels gives it complexity and structure, but also elegance and balance. A Reserva that finishes long, that persists and insists on winning us over.</p>
