This reserva reveals the essence of Herdade da Farizoa’s "terroir". Results from a blend of Touriga Nacional and Syrah varieties, aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
Established in 1958, Herdade da Farizoa is located in the Alentejo village of Terrugem, 17km from the historic town of Elvas, in the Borba subregion.The property has a total area of 157 hectares (388 acres), being 60 hectares (146 acres) vineyards. The remaining land is an extensive reserve of cork trees and holm oaks, known as montado, characteristic of the Alentejo landscapes.

<p><span>Quinta da Fronteira Reserva harvest of 2015 has a deep, opaque, purple ruby color with a thin cranberry cherry rim. Dark cherry, dusky blackberry, smoky cedar, licorice, and earthy crushed stone aromas. Blackberry, tart spicy plum preserves, and rich oak flavors. Full body, rich grippy wooly tannins, medium plus acidity, and a lingering tart dark fruit and oak finish. Hefty, intense, tannic. I'll revisit this one in a few years.</span></p> <p></p> <p></p>
