There are notes of tangerine and candied peach and flowers, and more slightly fresh berries combined with hints of fresh/crystallised citrus fruit, as well as fine notes of zest, a discreet hint of verbena, spices and a subtle touch of almond. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied lemon, candied kumquat and more, a hint of candied mandarin with notes of fresh berries / juicy / finely acidic, as well as touches of spicy (almost salty) minerality. They are so many and so different that in 1935 a system of classes from Letra A to Letra F, with the right to benefit, and without the right below Letra F began and continues to this day. In Letter A are the plots with the greatest maturity and which brought so much fame to the Douro; in Letters F and following, the opposite. With less power and concentration, they were pushed towards abandonment. But there are still forgotten treasures, vineyards planted in other times that confirm the existence of several Douros. <p></p><p>Quinta da Pedra Escrita Rosé Wine is very elegant and complex aroma, very fresh, with vibrant red fruit and floral notes balanced by a subtle hint of basil from the Touriga Nacional grape veriety.
