Casa da Passarella O Fugitivo Pinot Noir 2021 Red Wine
Casa da Passarella O Fugitivo Pinot Noir is a distinguished red wine from the Dão region of Portugal, crafted by the historic Casa da Passarella winery. This wine exclusively features the Pinot Noir grape, a variety with a long-standing presence at the estate, even being utilized for sparkling wine experiments in the 1930s. The winemaking process involves traditional lagar maceration with partial stems, followed by about 12 months of aging in used barrels, yielding a complex and refined result.
On the tasting notes, O Fugitivo Pinot Noir presents a lighter color typical of its varietal. Its aroma is rich with red fruits, potentially complemented by dry vegetal notes and a hint of tobacco, depending on the vintage. On the palate, it's described as elegant, delicate, and highly complex, showcasing firm yet fine tannins and a long finish. For food pairing, this versatile wine is an excellent match for roasted or stewed meat dishes and cheeses, best served between 14ºC and 16ºC.
