The total area of the island of Madeira is 732 Km2 and the extension of the Wine Region is about 500 hectares. It is a unique landscape and characterized by the rugged orography of the relief. Particular soil conditions of volcanic origin, mostly basaltic, and proximity to the sea, associated with the climatic conditions, where the summers are hot and humid and the mild winters, give the wine unique and unique characteristics

After his death in 1912, a partnership was established between his two sons, Francisco Eduardo and Joaquim Henriques, which gave rise to the name Henriques & Henriques .<br />From the earliest times, Henriques & Henriques occupied a prominent place in viticulture and the art of making wine. In 1913 the family interests were constituted in a company of the family that, in 1925, began its activity like exporter of its wines to the detriment of the local supply to other exporters</p>
<p></p><p>Deep purple in colour, LBV by Quinta do Crasto shows an extraordinary intensity of wild fruit aromas, elegant cocoa notes and delicate spice hints. The same intensity is found on the palate, with excellent volume and a compact structure made up of serious, polished and fine-textured tannins. Everything is lovely wrapped in fresh wild berry fruit notes. This is a wine with a balanced finish and as it was bottled without filtration it meets all the conditions for evolving positively in the bottle</p>

Therefore they started storing as much Madeira Wine as possible, letting it slowly mature inside the barrels for future generations to be able to enjoy it further. For that reason, D’Oliveiras is the only Madeira Wine company that owns Madeira Wine bottles and Barrels from as far as the 1850’s that can still be commercially purchased.</p>
