Adega Mãe 221 Alvarinho 2017 White Wine

AdegaMãe 221 Alvarinho White Wine is a distinctive Portuguese white wine that masterfully blends Alvarinho grapes from two significant regions: Lisboa, home of AdegaMãe with its Atlantic influence, and Vinho Verde (Monção and Melgaço), known for its classic Alvarinho style. This collaboration, led by AdegaMãe's enologist Diogo Lopes and specialist Anselmo Mendes, aims to create an "unprecedented" expression of the grape, delivering freshness, complexity, and originality

AdegaMãe 221 Alvarinho White Wine presents a brilliant golden straw color and a rich, complex aroma with notes of citrus, ripe white fruit, and honey, often complemented by minerality and a hint of salinity from oak integration and Atlantic influence.
On the palate, this wine is lively and well-balanced, offering good freshness, structure, and a pleasant creaminess. Made from 100% hand-harvested Alvarinho, it often undergoes fermentation and aging in French oak barrels with batonnage, contributing to its complexity and excellent aging potential. Highly praised and awarded, the AdegaMãe 221 Alvarinho is considered a top-tier white wine, perfect for pairing with baked fish, seafood, white meats, cheeses, and appetizers. It's best served chilled between 10ºC and 12ºC to fully appreciate its nuanced profile.

Casal Sta Maria Reserva White Wine presents greenish-yellow tone, with a bright appearance. Aromatic palette with DNA Colares, showing a lot of minerality, oyster shells, salty air, light green apple, and apricot-like fruit. Overall, it is fine and delicate, with a creamy attack full of concentration and refreshing acidity. The finish is intense and prolonged, bringing back notes of minerality and sea.
