<p>When tasting, expect a deep purple or intense red color. The aroma is complex and expressive, with notes of ripe red fruits (cherry, raspberry), black fruits, spices (pepper, cocoa), smoky and mineral touches, and sometimes nuances of Chinese ink. On the palate, it is full-bodied, fresh, and elegant, with present but assertive and well-integrated tannins. It boasts vibrant acidity, good mouthfeel, and a long, dry, and fresh finish, where fruit and spices linger, sometimes with a slight bitter note contrasting the fruit's sweetness. <p></p><p>The Quinta Pedra da Cancela is the fruit of the passion for the wine of the Gouveia family. The winemaking operation has been a family activity for several generations, in the beginning they were delivering their grapes at the Adega Cooperativa. In 1999, with the end of the superior studies in Viticulture and Enology of João Paulo Gouveia, son of João Coelho Gouveia, they decide to create their own wine. The vineyards were restructured, others were acquired and a modern wine cellar was built and with a high technology, all respecting the culture of the Dão demarcated region. In 2014 the name of the company became Pedra Cancela Vinhos do Dão Lda</p>

<p></p><p>Cabeço de Mocho Red Wine is the result of an excellent combination of Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Tinta Roriz and Touriga-Nacional grape varieties produced and vinified at Quinta das Camélias. It presents a deep ruby colour with dark red nuances. The aroma is very complex and delicate, showing mature notes of cherry and blackberry, combined with expressions of fresh vanilla and a light hint of clove. In the mouth it is full and round, well muscled with educated tannins. It shows finesse, exquisite bouquet and a long persistence. It should be served at 16-18º accompanying red meat dishes and strong cheeses.</p> <p>     </p>
