Born in 1968 in Armação de Pêra, Algarve, married, 2 children, he graduated in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and is a current member of the Order of Engineers.
Founded, after a visit to the Military Academy, IDOM Engenharia, company integrated in one of the largest Iberian studies and projects groups. His taste for wine led him back to the university, this time to the Higher Institute of Agronomy, where he specialized in Viticulture and Oenology, having completed his Master's Degree in Food Engineering, in the Sensory Analysis area. He recently completed the PhD program in the same scientific area and has published part of his work in the American journal, Journal of Sensory Studies. He is a member of the Portuguese Oenology Association, the Portuguese winemakers' association. At the end of 2002 he began writing about wines in the magazine Evasões and has since intensified his work as a specialized critic, collaborating with the weekly newspaper Sol, Diário de Notícias, Jornal de Notícias, radio TSF, magazine Great Consumption, among other titles. During 2009 was part of the Hour of Bacchus, television program dedicated to wine. Since 2005, it has been publishing two annual wine selections: Copo & Alma, Melhor Vinhos and Copo & Alma, Popular Wine Guide (Editorial Presença), the first in Portugal with a selection of the best wines of the daily consumption segment be a consumer support tool that acquires its wines in the modern distribution. Your Copa & Alma, Best Wines Guide passed, in 2010, to be exclusively digital, being housed in the new wine portal www.w-anibal.com. He is the author of the guide on Portugal integrated in the international TOP 10 Wines collection of Dorling Kindersley. He is the jury of several international wine competitions, such as the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, International Wine Challenge, Vinalies Internationales, Citadelles du Vin, Selections Mondiales Canada or the Mundus Vini. In Portugal he presides over the regional competitions of the Setúbal Peninsula, Beira Interior and the Algarve. He is also the Coordinator of the CVR of the Setúbal Peninsula and the Technical Coordinator of the new Uva d'Ouro Contest. Among several collaborations as trainer and consultant, we highlight the partnerships with Tivoli Hotels & Resorts and Modelo Continente Hypermarkets. He is Technical Director of Vinipax, the biggest wine event in the South of Portugal. Has in the music another professional activity, being effective member of the Gulbenkian Choir, since 1998.

<p>Astronauta Clarete Rose Wine has citrus clear color. Notes of citrus fruits and pineapples. Minerality noted (chipped stone and kerosene). Mouth fleshy and bittersweet, very fresh and salivating. It accompanies large fish such as cod, salmon or grouper and cherne slices. Excellent with Asian, Indian or Italian food. Serve at 8-9ºC.</p>
