<p></p><p>André Herrera de Almeida started his activity as a winemaker in the final stage of his degree, after sharing harvests in both hemispheres he settled in Portugal where he gives oenological consultancy to four small producers in Alentejo.<br />Torero wines are produced in Murteirinha, André's family estate and are intended to be signature wines, with their own character, that do not want to occupy but share a space increasingly open to new challenges, and because the challenge is a characteristic of youth, the image is appealing to a market that is increasingly informed and global</p>

<p></p><p>Vinha do Lado Red Wine presents intense colour, with aromas of jam, ripe fruit, truffles and vanilla. On the palate it has good acidity, soft but firm tannins and a long finish.</p> <p>The grapes are destemmed and carefully selected at the hand-picking table. After crushing, they are trodden in marble presses using the traditional foot treading method. Transfer to stainless steel vats where the alcoholic fermentation finishes. This is followed by 12 days of post-fermentation maceration.</p>
