In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation. The grapes ripen, thus, in a slow and balanced way, with cool and wet winters, mild summers and the constant presence of the sea winds, creating wines where elegance overrides robustness.

Teixinha Field Blend Tava Red Wine emphasises the purity of the fruit, which has been preserved by ageing for 14 months in amphorae. The palate has also benefited from this more traditional ageing, which has rounded out the tannins and maintained the wine's freshness and elegance. It seems to us to represent the enormous potential of the wines from this region

Teixinha Amphora Red Wine

Quinta de São José de Peramanca is located five kilometres from Évora, on National Road 114. The large and traditional house, marked by baroque architecture, and the church of San José adjacent to it facilitate identification. With 34 hectares, the Quinta has in the manor house and in its vineyard its greatest patrimony.

As for the peculiar name of the Quinta "Peramanca" (Pedra-Manca), it means "oscillating stone, not very safe", is explained by the existence in the region of large granite stones in oscillating balance. Since Roman times and over the centuries, the surroundings to the west of Évora have been considered as one of the most important regions producing quality wine, and the area has become known as "Terras de Peramanca", given the abundance of these oscillating stones.
