<p></p> <p>Alabastro is a wine who's name is inspired by a semi-precious marble found in the Alentejo region. Like this stone, Aliança Vinhos want to produce a wine that presented it self with strong and persistent flavours.</p>
<p>For more than 20 years, the name João Portugal Ramos has been associated with Portuguese wines, first as a consulting winemaker for well known brands of wine and since 1992 as a bottling producer.</p> <p>The success and the prizes accumulated throughout his career have earned him the national and international recognition as one of the main responsible for the evolution of the Portuguese wines in the last decade.</p> <p>The Alentejo was the region chosen to produce its first wines. In 1990, João Portugal Ramos planted the first five hectares of vineyard in Estremoz, where he has lived since 1988, starting his personal project. It expanded its activity beyond the Alentejo from 1989, reaching Ribatejo, Beiras, Douro and Vinho Verde</p>

The mouth shows fresh attack where this red fruit is repeat with an earthy flavour and long lasting</p> <p>Planted on soil characterised by schist and granite, the grapes are from an integrated production system and are harvested according to their perfect state of ripeness. The grapes were harvested by hand, in 20kg boxes, and at night, providing a more careful selection and better preservation of the aromas. In the cellar, they pass through the sorting table where a rigorous selection is made, and then they enter the fermentation vats by gravity. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. Little intervention throughout the process and low sulphur content.</p>
