Resulted from the union of 15 producers, owners of 18 Quintas spread throughout the best terroirs in the 3 sub-regions of the Douro region (Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior). Nowadays the company has 48 shareholders (of which 15 are producers), and 19 Quintas.  Together, they have a total area of vineyard of more than 600 ha.</p> <p>The goal of this brand has been, since the beginning, to create balanced and elegant wines that age well, having as a starting point the declared commitment with the excellence and tradition of Douro</p> <p></p>

<p></p><p>Quinta de Valbom red and Quinta de Valbom Reserva red are the two wines that this property produces. They result from vinification in granite lagares and the ageing takes place in French oak barrels.</p> <p>More than just producing one more wine, Luis Duarte's aim is to produce an ex-libris of the douro region, so he is in no hurry to put it on the market. On the contrary, he bets on prolonged ageing and the result is a wine where all the elements are more integrated, more harmonized giving more pleasure to drink it!</p>

<p></p><p>It all began in 1918 when on 15 August, a few months before the Armistice, Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born in the heart of the Port Wine hustle and bustle, decided to establish his own company.<br />With his uncle, he created a company to sell grape spirits to large Port Wine shippers. Soon afterwards he opened the head offices in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they remain to this date.<br />Today, with three quintas in the best winemaking areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças ensures its total control over the quality of its wines and the family is more involved than ever before</p>
