Quinta das Apegadas, Sociedade Agrícola, Lda., Has only existed since 2003 and is the result of the desire of its partners, Cândida and António Amorim, to invest in the Douro, a region they have always considered one of the most beautiful in Portugal.

The first attempt to settle in the Douro dates back to 1990, but for various reasons it did not materialize.
In 2000 a new opportunity appeared. Many constraints had been overcome in the meantime and it was possible to move forward with the project.
It started with Quinta das Apegadas, located in Cidadelhe, Mesão Frio, with 3.5 ha of land and a very small vineyard. Through a conversion project, the vineyard was remodeled in 2002.
Then came the hypothesis of taking a bigger step, which was materialized in the acquisition of Quinta Velha, located in Canelas, Régua, a property already with 14 hectares, of which 10 of vineyards, all classified as letter A.
The idea of ​​making wine was already internalized and materialized in 2004 in rented premises.
The marketing of the 2004 harvest began in April 2006 and the results were promising from the outset.
In 2006 construction began on a winery in Quinta Velha where the harvest of this year was already made.
