<p>Casal Garcia was born in 1939, a year in which the vintage was particularly good. Returning by train from the grape harvest in the Douro, the French oenologist Euge Hisse decided to interrupt his journey to Oporto after passing the vines of the Quinta da Aveleda, in Penafiel. The name came about by itself, since the wine was produced from one of the vines of Aveleda: that of Casal Garcia.</p> <p></p>
<p></p><p>Casa Ermelinda freitas is a wine brand recognized by the world for its magnificent wines. From its very beginnings, made the quality of its vineyards and wines a top priority. When the company first started, wines were produced and sold wholesale and unbranded. It was the current management that decided to take on the challenge that is involved in creating an own brand wine. 1997 was the year of the company's new beginning in wine making, with red wine "Terras do Po tinto", being the first to be produced and bottled on the premises of the Ermelinda Freitas winery.</p>

<p></p><p>It began almost two decades ago, the passion and pleasure that the people of Quinta do Sobreiro do Cima put in the products that lead to themselves. To the regional development of Trás-os-Montes and the site of Santa Valha and Rio Torto, evidencing the history and wine-growing of these lands, this group allied the identity of its roots to a business project of creation and development of agro-alimentary products of high quality.</p>
<p></p><p>The company was founded in 1926 by Mr. Messias Baptista, who served as chairman until 1973. The management is still held by the descendants of MESSIAS family. <span id="result_box" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Since its foundation</span> that MESSIAS <span lang="en" xml:lang="en">has been producing and selling high quality wines from the main demarcated regions:</span> Bairrada, Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde, Beiras and Vinho do Porto. <p></p><p>Casal do Paço has belonged to the family of Vasco Croft since the 17th century. It has the soul of an old Quinta, and was the starting point of the Aphros project. It extends over some 20 hectares of land and forest, six of which are vineyards and four of chestnut orchards</p>
<p></p><p>Quinta das Arcas has around 50ha, 35ha of vineyards stand out, around 30 years old, where under the influence of a very particular micro-climate grapes of high quality of the Loureiro, Trajadura and Arinto grapes are obtained</p>
<p></p><p>Sem Igual Orange is made from Arinto and Azal grapes. The wine has skin contact during fermentation and it exhibits a rich gold color and citrus and orange peel aromas. On the palate, it is fresh, bone dry, with a long finish, perfect for pairing with white meat dishes and cheeses</p> <p>Sem Igual Orange pairs wonderfully with richly structured and naturally fatty foods such as lamb, duck, or pork, especially when seasoned with orange or citrus. It also creates an excellent match with herb-roasted fish featuring mustard seeds and fennel.</p>
<p></p><p><span>Placed in the Vinho Verde Region, more precisely in the council of Amarante – land of the poet Pascoaes and of the painter Souza-Cardoso – Quinta de Carapeços is known for its natural beauty, as well as for the quality and singularity of its White, Red, Rosé, Sparkling and Late Harvest Wines that over the years received numerous awards and the recognition of national and international wine Critics and Connaisseurs.</span></p>
<p></p><p>The vineyards are located in loam soils, of mild texture and well drained, offering excellent sun exposure, granting its grapes a golden colour, easily reachiing full maturation, hence its wines are among the best of the entire region</p>
