Born in Vila Real, he spent all his childhood in the vineyards of his family. He began at an early age to pick up and tread grapes with his grandparents and never imagined a path in his life that would not pass through viticulture.
He admires and respects the land and its biodiversity, and perhaps that is why the taste for wine production runs through his veins. She holds a degree in oenology from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (Vila Real) and a postgraduate degree in Viticulture and Enology from the School of Biotechnology at the Portuguese Catholic University (Porto).
Throughout her career, Sandra Alves has worked during several harvests in several Portuguese wineries, highlighting her experience as an assistant winemaker at Wise Vineyards in Australia.
It is part of the Herdade do Esporão family since 2004. Today it is an oenologist specializing in the white wines of Esporão, such as Alandra, Monte Velho, Defesa, Verdelho, 2 Grape Varieties and 4 Varieties and also rosé.
