Justino's Single Cask Malvasia 2007 Madeira Wine (500ml)

Justino's Single Cask Malvasia 2007 is a special category, limited edition Madeira Wine that adheres to the concept of exclusivity found in this producer's single cask releases. This wine stands out from the rest not just because of its exceptional quality, but also because of the rarity of its limited production. This distinctive wine is a reflection of the winemaker's commitment to creating unique, high-quality wines that capture the essence of the vineyard and the distinct characteristics of the Malvasia grape variety.

The Justino's Single Cask Malvasia 2007 presents a deep amber color with coppery and golden reflections. It has a very rich, intense and complex aroma, where prominent notes of honey, raisins, dried figs, caramel, sweet spices and subtle nuances of roasting, smoke and exotic wood stand out. On the palate, it offers a smooth, full-bodied and decidedly sweet entry. However, the natural and vibrant acidity typical of the Madeira terroir perfectly balances this sweetness, ensuring freshness and a long, persistent and complex finish. This wine's complexity and depth of flavor make it a truly exceptional choice for discerning wine lovers.

"Single Cask" denotes that the wine originates entirely from one selected wooden barrel, handpicked by the winery due to its exceptional profile. The content of this specific cask has been bottled individually, without any blending or mixing with other wines. The outcome is a very limited edition of numbered bottles, intended for collectors. This unique process ensures the exclusivity and distinctive quality of the wine, elevating it to a coveted piece of art rather than a mere beverage.

Barbeito & Niepoort Os Mestres

Blending together grape varieties continues to be a relatively rare practice when it comes to Madeira wine. Ricardo Diogo and Dirk Niepoort tasted the various batches used for this dry “Reserva Especial” directly out of the barrels in one of the “Vinhos Barbeito” winery’s cellars.

Notes of star anise, touches of stalkiness from the stems, apricots, macerated fruit, and hints of caramel. Tropical flavours appear on the wine’s pleasantly round but also structured palate. The wine’s crisp acidity leads into a beautifully dry finish.
