This wine originates from grapes that have been carefully selected in a manual harvest. After they have been stalked and crushed, the pellicular maceration process continues for 8 hours at 10°C (50°F), maximizing the colour and aroma of the grapes

On the nose, very fresh and elegant with notes of wild berries and black cherries balanced with seductive nuances of licorice, the scent being replete with discrete wooden notes. In the mouth, it is very concentrated, warm, with firm tannins and soft texture, very intense finish and persists to show strongly the strength of the wines of the Alto Douro.

Quinta de S. José is a family project that began in early 1999 by the will of the João’s father, Ruy Brito e Cunha, due to the excellent location of the houses in the Quinta, practically on the side of the river.

Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas is a result of the passion to display the individuality and character of the Douro by the creators of this project.

Permitido Branco de C White Wine presents citrus fruits in the nose with great intensity, fresh notes fresh notes and lots of minerality. Well-balanced wine in the mouth with a persistent and with an endless freshness.

Quinta do Espinho covers 20 hectares over Távora River on the left bank of Douro River, the wine culture centre of Douro Valley in the sub-region of Cima Corgo where some of the most emblematic Port Wine farms are situated.

Thirty years ago, one branch of the Macedo Pinto family has taken over Quinta do Espinho, driving it to the production of top class red wine in the Douro
