<p></p><p>Cara a Cara is Joao Silva e Sousa's personal vinic project.</p> <p>Great-grandson, great-grandson and grandson of wine producers in the Dão region, João Silva e Sousa began working in wineries and in his grandfather's vineyards at the age of 15. As a winemaker, he has worked in various internationally renowned houses. He was co-founder of two companies where he created brands such as Castello d'Alba, Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas, Andreza, Maria Papoila, among others. He started his personal project with the brand Cara a Cara. He also works as a consultant for wineries in the Verdes, Douro, Alentejo and Algarve.</p>

<p></p><p><span>Quinta dos Avidagos has a wide range of wines that goes from Avidagos White, Red and Rosé, Quinta dos Avidagos Tinto Reserva, Quinta do Além Tanha Tinto and Quinta dos Avidagos Grande Reserva Tinto. The indigenous varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, for the reds and Gouveio, Rabigato and Viosinho for white, allow them to achieve all the personality and character of the terroirs of the Douro. Combining cutting-edge winemaking with the traditional foot treading in granite mills (lagares), the aim is to produce wines with excellent value money with recognized quality worldwide, international profile and the nature of their homeland. The excellence of the wine culture, the use of traditional varieties, as well as the structural conditions of the region and the human project, has constituted the secret of success. The Douro is actually unique, singular. The wines deserve attention from critics regarding the quality and sales, both domestically and in export markets, have increased. A field blend of 34 diferent grape varieties.</span></p> <p>Very concentraded and intense aroma, with balsamic notes from the Oak well paired with figs, black plums and tabacco.</p> <div class="font-italic">Full-bodied, firm and mature with round, velvety tanins. Mineral, with a complex and persistant finish.</div>

<p></p><p>It all began in 1918 when on 15 August, a few months before the Armistice, Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born in the heart of the Port Wine hustle and bustle, decided to establish his own company.<br />With his uncle, he created a company to sell grape spirits to large Port Wine shippers. Soon afterwards he opened the head offices in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they remain to this date.<br />Today, with three quintas in the best winemaking areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças ensures its total control over the quality of its wines and the family is more involved than ever before</p>
