Crasto Altitude 430 is a Douro DOC red wine from Quinta do Crasto, produced from vineyards located at 430 meters above sea level on north-facing slopes. This elegant blend consists of 70% Tinta Francisca and 30% Touriga Nacional—two grape varieties selected for their aromatic intensity and natural freshness at higher altitudes. The grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, destemmed, and gently crushed before undergoing a short maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to used French oak barrels, where it completes fermentation and ages for 12 months.
Crasto Altitude Red Wine displays a bright garnet color and a refined nose with notes of red berries, forest herbs, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and elegant, with silky tannins, good volume, and a long, clean finish. With moderate alcohol (12.5%) and lively acidity, Crasto Altitude 430 is a sophisticated expression of high-altitude Douro terroir, emphasizing finesse over power.
