<p></p><p>The Quinta do Filoco vineyards produce the best nectars of the Douro region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vineyards and the Cellar were being modernized with new equipment, combining tradition and modernity in the well know how to make wine. The vineyards stretched along 130 hectares, surrounded by thickets with typically Mediterranean vegetation that contribute to the unique terroir of the Filoco wines.</p>

<p></p><p>Menin Touriga Nacional Red is a wine with a rich and complex profile, with a good balance between the fruity character where the notes of black and red fruits and the typical floral character of the variety, violet and earl grey, stand out. <p>Fermentation in stainless steel vats for 20 days at a temperature of 15ºC (70% of the batch). Fermentation in a wine press for 7 days at a temperature of 25ºC. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats. Ageing: 12 months in 500-litre French oak casks.</p>

The indigenous varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, for the reds and Gouveio, Rabigato and Viosinho for white, allow them to achieve all the personality and character of the terroirs of the Douro. Combining cutting-edge winemaking with the traditional foot treading in granite mills (lagares), the aim is to produce wines with excellent value money with recognized quality worldwide, international profile and the nature of their homeland. The excellence of the wine culture, the use of traditional varieties, as well as the structural conditions of the region and the human project, has constituted the secret of success. The Douro is actually unique, singular. The wines deserve attention from critics regarding the quality and sales, both domestically and in export markets, have increased. <p></p><p>Poeira Desalinhados Clarete reveals fantastic nose, with blue and black fruit in a very fresh version, all very well integrated by the time in bottle, with dried vegetable in the background promising grip. It confirms the profile in the mouth, fresh and open, lively, with good dryness and lots of flavour, cherry and blackberry, finishing very clean and refreshing. Brilliant!</p>

<p></p><p>It all began in 1918 when on 15 August, a few months before the Armistice, Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born in the heart of the Port Wine hustle and bustle, decided to establish his own company.<br />With his uncle, he created a company to sell grape spirits to large Port Wine shippers. Soon afterwards he opened the head offices in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they remain to this date.<br />Today, with three quintas in the best winemaking areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças ensures its total control over the quality of its wines and the family is more involved than ever before</p>
