In 2012, Herdade do Menir was acquired by an Algarvian family that takes the lead of the estate and all its brands.

In this context, a new range of wines emerges, which stand out for their quality - Barão Rodrigues Reserva Tinto e Branco. The Barão Rodrigues family undertakes to devote all their passion to producing a quality wine, based on all the wisdom and tradition of the Alentejo.
Highlander was the guard of the coutadas - hunting zone - where the king hunted. In 1988 and by the hand of Mr. Gabriel Francisco Dias, the first sale of grapes produced in Herdade do Menir was made to other wineries. In 1990 he ventured into the construction of a winery with the aim of vinification of his own grapes, and in 1991 he produced the first wine of the trademark Couteiro-Mor.
