The Herdade Papa Leite C50 Rosé Wine, from the 2023 vintage, is a distinctively flavorful Rosé crafted by the esteemed winemakers António Madalena and Diogo Cancela d’Abreu. This exquisite Rosé is made from the Syrah grape variety, presenting a lightly pink, salmon color that is quite captivating. It offers an intense nose with strong notes of strawberry, which is beautifully complemented by a very floral aroma. On the palate, it delivers a soft, intense flavor with a refreshing hint of strawberry that leaves a persistent aftertaste. The wine has a 12.5% alcohol content, a pH of 3.49, and a total acidity of 5.4 g/l. With a limited production of 3620 bottles of 0.75 l each, this wine was meticulously created by the producer Filipe Barreiros Cardoso.
The Herdade Papa Leite C50 Rosé Wine is best served at a temperature of 8º- 10º C, making it a perfect aperitif before a meal or a delightful drink to enjoy while watching the sunset. It can also be paired with a light meal, be it a lobster salad, a Caesar salad, or a dish of fish or seafood, whether grilled or cooked. The wine was created from grapes grown in clay and limestone-schist soils, harvested by hand on August 27, and transported in 10 kg boxes to prevent crushing. The fermentation process took place in a stainless steel vat for three weeks, with a controlled fermentation temperature of 14º C. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was kept in contact with fine lees until April 2024, further enhancing its unique flavor profile.
