In 2008 Taylor’s wine maker, David Guimaraens, became aware of the existence of a very old and rare cask aged port, dating from the period before Phylloxera arrived in the Douro Valley and destroyed most of its vineyards. The wine, over 150 years in age, belonged to a distinguished Douro family and was stored in a wine lodge in the village of Prezegueda in the Corgo Valley. A treasured heirloom, the wine had been passed down from one generation to the next and attempts to persuade the family to part with it had been unsuccessful

Crafted from fruit grown on Taylor’s historic estates in the Pinhão Valley, this Vintage stands out not only for its intensity but also for its refined balance and promising longevity. While it already offers great pleasure in its youth, it is built to evolve gracefully over decades — a true investment in style and taste. Make no mistake: the 2022 Taylor’s Vintage is one that deserves pride of place in any serious wine collection

The Taylor’s Single Harvest Port is presented in the classic frosted bottle associated with Taylor’s celebrated range of Aged Tawny Ports and will be presented in a high quality wooden box.

Taylor’s is one of the oldest of the founding Port houses. It is dedicated entirely to the production of Port wine and in particular to its finest styles.
