After spending his childhood in S. João da Pesqueira and part of his youth in Coimbra, she began his oenology course in 1994 at the University of Vila Real. When she finished the course in 1998, she spent six months at Barros & Almeida, a wine producer and trader from Oporto, in Vila Nova de Gaia. She then returned to S. João da Pesqueira to start work as an oenologist in the family business in the 1999 harvest.
Since then she has been making Port and Douro wines in Quevedo until 2013, when Teresa Batista was responsible for Douro wines.
