<p></p><p>Located between two natural reserves, from the Estuary of the Tagus to the Northwest and the Sado to the southwest, the west of the Arrábida and the source of Barros Alentejanos, the region of Pegões presents privileged soil and climatic conditions.<br />With a climate of Mediterranean influence and located in the flat soil spot called "Pliocénio de Pegões", characterized by poor sandy soil formed over millions of years by the deposition of the sands transported by the Tejo and Sado rivers, it produces wines with unique characteristics, own of a terroir that only in Pegões exists.</p>

When the company first started, wines were produced and sold wholesale and unbranded. It was the current management that decided to take on the challenge that is involved in creating an own brand wine. 1997 was the year of the company's new beginning in wine making, with red wine "Terras do Po tinto", being the first to be produced and bottled on the premises of the Ermelinda Freitas winery</p>

On the palate it is a structured wine, but at the same time elegant, aromatic and with soft tannins. It has a very long and savoury finish.</p> <p>Harmonises with grilled sardines, fried horse mackerel and various regional dishes or tempuras.</p> <p></p>
