Real Companhia Velha is the oldest and most emblematic wine company in Portugal, celebrating 260 years in the service of port wine. The company owns some of the Douro region finest vineyards to produce white port wine, red port wine and Premium port such as vintage and colheitas.
<p></p> <p>CARMIM - Cooperativa Agrícola de Reguengos de Monsaraz - was created in 1971 by a group of 60 winegrowers with the objective of producing and marketing wine, from the grapes of a group of winegrowers of the region.<br />CARMIM currently has about 900 members and produces 74 wine references: from whites to reds, from youngsters to reservations, to liqueurs, rosé and sparkling wines. CARMIM also produces brandy and oils of recognized quality.</p>
<p></p><p>The Symington family, with Scottish, English and Portuguese ancestry has been present in the Douro for five generations — since 1882 — and through the current generation’s great grandmother, the family’s links to the wines of the Douro span 14 generations, to the mid-17th century and to the very beginnings of the history of Port</p>
<p></p><p>Founded in London in 1737, initially as wine merchant, Offley was soon exporting wines and later began to produce its own Port Wine. The brand gained international recognition as a creator of premium quality port wines.</p>
<p></p><p>Since its foundation in 1880, Casa Ramos Pinto has remained an independent family business and maintained its own production strategy and continuous technical and technological research, characteristics still unparalleled in the sector.<br />The wines come from its four properties: Quinta do Bom Retiro and Quinta da Urtiga, located in the heart of the Douro, and Quinta dos Bons Ares and Quinta de Ervamoira, the most modern of the Upper Douro</p>
<p>Casal Garcia was born in 1939, a year in which the vintage was particularly good. Returning by train from the grape harvest in the Douro, the French oenologist Euge Hisse decided to interrupt his journey to Oporto after passing the vines of the Quinta da Aveleda, in Penafiel. The name came about by itself, since the wine was produced from one of the vines of Aveleda: that of Casal Garcia.</p> <p></p>
<p></p><p>The company was founded in 1926 by Mr. Messias Baptista, who served as chairman until 1973. The management is still held by the descendants of MESSIAS family. <span id="result_box" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Since its foundation</span> that MESSIAS <span lang="en" xml:lang="en">has been producing and selling high quality wines from the main demarcated regions:</span> Bairrada, Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde, Beiras and Vinho do Porto. The company is also known for the high quality of its Champagne method Sparkling wines and aged Brandies</p> <p></p>
