Quinta da Foz is located in Douro Vinhateiro, in the sub-region of Cima Corgo, in the parish of Gouvães do Douro, Sabrosa, and shares on its banks the junction of the river Pinhão and the river Douro. Currently, Quinta da Foz is dedicated to the production of table wine of excellence, having resumed in 2012 the production of Port wine. It is an independent company specialising in dry red wines which has been at the forefront of the DOC Douro quality revolution and instrumental in driving forward the high quality image of the region.</p> <p></p>
<p></p><p>The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scot from Perth who decided to invest £300 borrowed from his father in creating a business marketing wines from Porto (Portugal) and Jerez (Spain). </p> <p>Always a pioneer, Sandeman was the first company to brand its name on a cask with a hot iron. In 1805, the GSC (George Sandeman Co.) signature was a guarantee of quality for the wine it sold. It was also one of the first companies to label and advertise its wines, which in the early nineteenth century were already being exported to several countries in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia. </p> <p>For over two centuries, Sandeman has based its success on a rare capacity for innovation and expertise handed down from generation to generation. Currently, Sandeman clearly stands out as "the" worldwide Port Wine and Sherry brand and proudly signs: "Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure."</p>

<p></p><p>Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas is a result of the passion to display the individuality and character that the creators of this project have with the Douro region for more than two decades. After so many years of being surprised by this unique wine region, in 2009 the time arrived to show what they have been seeing in Douro wines. The company's history began in that year with the production of white wines from Murça, an area forgotten by progress, but that produces unique wines with full identity. In 2010, work began on an investment in the winery in Martim, Douro, and in 2012, in the cradle of Alvarinho, Monção region. In 2013, a partnership was started in Alentejo, vinifying, in third party facilities, the grapes chosen and acquired in the region of Estremoz. In 2017, Lua Cheia has extended its presence into other Portuguese wine region – Dão.</p>
