<p>Palato do Coa started in 2007, when the winemaker Carlos Magalhães challenged 5 of his friends to buy Quinta da Saudade, located in the Douro Superior, Vila Nova de Foz Côa; considered by many one of the best terroir of the Douro region, in Portugal. With the goal to produce the best Douro wines, the estate has 7.5 hectares of old vineyards and 8.5 hectares planted in 2010</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p>

<p>Firmamento White Wine</p> <p>On the nose, Firmamento White Wine reveals a marked presence of citrus fruit (mandarin, grapefruit, lemon) and a significant minerality.</p> <p>On the palate, the citrus flavours remain, although the grapefruit has a strong presence and some notes of pineapple and wet stone stand out. The wine shows a balance between acidity and structure.</p>

<p>It all began in 1918 when on 15 August, a few months before the Armistice, Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born in the heart of the Port Wine hustle and bustle, decided to establish his own company.<br />With his uncle, he created a company to sell grape spirits to large Port Wine shippers. Soon afterwards he opened the head offices in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they remain to this date.<br />Today, with three quintas in the best winemaking areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças ensures its total control over the quality of its wines and the family is more involved than ever before</p>

<p>Four young brothers from Mesão Frio joined hands to create a wine-producing company that already has 150 hectares, spread over seven farms in the Douro Demarcated Region and launched the first wine at the end of 2011.<br />Roberto, Ricardo, Rafael and Rudolfo, with 33, 29, 26 and 23 years, make up the R4 Douro Family.</p>

<p>Quinta do Noval Terroir Series Vinhas do Passadouro Red Wine displays a deep and intense colour that reveals concentration and vitality. An abundance of aromas with intense notes of ripe fruits such as blackberry, black cherry, and plum. Spices like black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon add complexity. The tannins are firm and well-integrated, providing a solid and elegant structure. This wine is full-bodied with a velvety texture that fills the palate. It is complex and profound, unfolding aromatic expression as it evolves in the glass.</p> <p>It has a great ageing potential and will gain further aromatic complexity and smoothness in the tannins over time. While delightful already, its true essence will be revealed after a few years of cellaring.</p>
