The history of the 100HECTARES wines begins in the early 70’s.
The estates of the family are the origin of their wines, and the production is made exclusively from grapes coming from their properties, which is at the heart of the family’s production philosophy
<p></p><p>This Douro red wine is produced with grapes from various vineyards of the Vieira de Sousa Family over 40 years old, with the most varied traditional Douro varieties.</p>
<p></p><p>Vinha do Carril Red Wine is the Niepoort family's latest iconic wine, from a centenary vineyard that surrounds the Nápoles estate in the upper Corgo. The natural heterogeneity of an old vineyard, the grape varieties that make it up and the stories that have lived through its 100 years of existence, mark its complexity and enhance the Douro as a region capable of producing world-class wines.</p> <p>Vinha do Carril shows displays a pale, bright red hue, with purple glints. On the nose, notes of cherry, rhubarb, fresh herbs, spices, and floral nuances mingle with a subtle smoky character and hints of graphite which lend the wine the typical complexity of a red wine grown in the Douro’s schist soils. The palate showcases Niepoort’s signature elegant structure, freshness and acidity. It finishes long, with an almost spicy note and beautiful elegance and acidity</p>
<p>Altitude by Duorum Red Wine has a deep red colour with a violet tinge. Intense aroma, dominated by ripe fruit such as plum, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry, and floral aromas of violet. It's a full-bodied, fresh wine, with balanced acidity well involved in its body and volume. Firm, ripe and smooth tannins, with a fresh and persistent finish.</p>
<p>Xisto Roquette & Cazes Red Wine</p> <p>On the nose, Xisto Roquette & Cazes shows notes of fresh forest fruit well integrated with elegant hints of spices and rock rose.</p> <p>On the palate it has an elegant attack, evolving into a wine with excellent dimension and structure, made up of fresh, fine-textured tannins. A wine made using Bordeaux technology but which reflects the identity of the Douro. It finishes harmoniously and with excellent persistence.</p> <p></p>
<p></p><p>Real Companhia Velha owns Quinta do Casal da Granja, an extensive vineyard of 160ha, located in the small village of Granja de Alijó. It is also here that are located their modern wine cellars. The Grandjó brand comes precisely from a merger between the two words; Farm and Alijó.
