The story of Dow’s is unusual amongst all the great Port houses. It began in 1798 when Bruno da Silva, a Portuguese merchant from Oporto, made a journey which was the opposite to that of the first British merchants. The Port shipping business was continued by Bruno’s son, John da Silva who in 1862 brought into partnership Frederick William Cosens. With the continuing expansion of the firm, Edward da Silva and Frederick Cosens were joined by George Acheson Warre, whose well known family had been involved in the Port trade since its earliest years. In 1877, Silva & Cosens merged with another leading Port company, Dow & Co.

Although smaller than Silva & Cosens, Dow & Co had become a very highly regarded Port producer with a particularly fine reputation for its Vintage Ports and when the two companies merged, it was decided to adopt DOW’S as the brand name

For over two centuries the name of DOW has been associated with the finest Port from the vineyards of the Upper Douro Valley. Throughout the 20th Century and into the 21st, the Symington family has built on the legacy of the preceding Silva and Dow families.

Dow’s attractive and distinctive drier finish is the recognisable hallmark of the wines from this great Port house

Tons de Duorum Rosé Wime presents salmon-pink colored wine, fresh and elegant with notes of lime and pomegranate. Well balanced acidity ending with a long finish. A perfect pairing with appetizers, salads, pasta and Asian cuisine.

Cicónia Red Wine presents ruby colour with violet hints. Intense aroma of red and black forest fruits, harmoniously combined with floral and toasted notes. Smooth tanins, nice acidity, very juicy and fruity.

It match with Mediterranean food in general, pasta, lamb, poultry and soft cheeses

Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, S.A., one of the largest and most innovative wine companies in Portugal, has developed over the years a wide range of wines that has earned it a solid reputation and the preference of national and international consumers. Present in 7 Portuguese winegrowing regions, with a total of 1200ha of vineyards, 40 farms, 40 different vineyards and 4 vinous centers (cellars), the company is distinguished in the market by its size and autonomy in 70% in the own production

Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with quality, time and art. Thus it has been since the company’s founding in the eighteenth century by Bernardo Ferreira, whose formula was refined by his descendants, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known affectionately as Ferreirinha or Ferreirinha-da-Régua

Since 1999 Companhia das Quintas (CdQ) has been engaged in the production and marketing of high quality still wines, sparkling wines and spirits, being one of the most important companies in the sector in Portugal

Xaino Selection Red Wine was made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Amarela vineyards from our best plots located in Meda Region, in the Douro Superior. Intense red color. A very concentrated aroma. Combination of ripe red fruit, berries, black cherries with wood notes. Elegant on the palate with a good acidity and velvety tannins resulting in a well-structured and harmonious wine.

Not submitted to filtration or stabilization operations, resulting in a normal formation of sediment.

The company was founded in 1926 by Mr. Messias Baptista, who served as chairman until 1973. The management is still held by the descendants of MESSIAS family. Since its foundation that MESSIAS has been producing and selling high quality wines from the main demarcated regions: Bairrada, Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde, Beiras and Vinho do Porto. The company is also known for the high quality of its Champagne method Sparkling wines and aged Brandies

Inospito Vinhas Velhas Almendra Red Wine comes from an old vineyard, planted in 1850, between 200 and 250 metres above sea level, with grapes carefully harvested by hand. Poor schist soils contribute to a unique profile and an expression of a Douro interpreted as it was in the past, fresh, complex and with structure, without any tartaric correction.

When you taste a Conceito wine, you can taste its essence - our love for nature; respect for climate and soil’s characteristics and the ambition to do the best with what our land can produce.

Matilde Reserva Red Wine is produced from the region’s own grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Amarela and fermented by the traditional method of treading the grapes by foot in granite tanks. It aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The colour is ruby and the aroma is intense and complex to black plum and fig, followed by cedar. In the mouth the wine is voluptuous and with a good acidity. Tannins are well present but very smooth, resulting in a perfect balance and long-lasting after taste.
